The Hardin Valley Academy in Knox County, Tennessee has a Zombie Pandemic Project for the whole school. The project was based on a "virus". And the US Army has taken a series of steps to prepare for the coming zombie apocalypse as part of its annual US Army-North’s Hurricane Rehearsal of Concept drills. They’ve actually included the possibility of zombies in their drills and preparations.

They kicked off “Project Z” by inviting author Max Brooks, the writer behind the awesome Zombie Survival Guide and the movie World War Z. They also held a mock triage drill in a landfill to assess the severity of a natural disaster much in the same way the military does in Brooks’ oral zombie history novel.

Of course, the inclusion of zombies in their drills are purely allegorical and just a way to help prepare mankind for actual, real world disasters by tapping into their inner-zombie geek.

These two videos takes a look at comet ISON, specifically when Earth passes through the debris field of ISON, later in January of 2014. After some observation and trial and error, Mr. Cati and BPEarthwatch were able to learn the geographic areas of the USA that will be aligned with the debris path from ISON which will be following behind it.

A dramatic video of a tornado near Oklahoma City on Friday shows a group of storm chasers racing to escape the twister.

In the video, Oklahoma University meteorology student Brandon Sullivan and fellow storm chaser Brett Wright speed down a rural road dangerously close to one of the 17 tornadoes reported in the Midwest on May 31, 2013.

Brett and Brandon got extremely close to a violent tornadic circulation that produced multiple tornadoes in very close range.

The team was hit by inflow jet winds into the tornado and their vehicle received damage as a barn was completely destroyed. A hay bale came barreling across the road and was tossed into their car.

The team is very fortunate to live to chase another day.

Incredible storm chaser traffic prevented an escape from the tornado like normal..

There have been fatalities with this tornado. The team's thoughts go out to those affected! This was the same tornado that killed fellow storm chasers.

The devastating, mile-wide tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, killing dozens of people -- including children -- decimating homes, businesses and a pair of elementary schools in the suburb of Moore.

Weather officials estimated the strength of the storm to be an F4 or F5 on the Fujita Scale, the highest rating a tornado can achieve.

The National Weather Service said the tornado's preliminary classification was an F4, with winds up to 200 mph.

The devastated area was an estimated 30 square miles.

The tornadoes came a day after powerful storms ripped through the center of the country, spawning at least a dozen tornadoes, causing extensive damage from Georgia to Minnesota.

The closest approach '.008 AU' to Earth is on May 22, 2013.
