A "saucer-shaped object" photographed at Wooloowin on Brisbane's north side should be taken "pretty seriously." The truth is out there - and maybe it is hovering over Queensland.

There has been a spike in the number of reported UFO sightings across the state over recent months, according to president of UFO Research Queensland Sheryl Gottschall, with the Gold Coast being a real "hot spot."

"There was a sighting on the Gold Coast on Friday night, Cairns last week and there was another sighting in Childers. "We get about 100 calls a year and across Australia all up the UFO research groups get up to 800. That's just the reported sightings - a lot go unreported."

One photograph reportedly taken over Wooloowin on May 23 shows a silver disc hovering in the sky.

The Australian Transportation Safety Bureau (ATSB) released a report this week on the investigation of a “near collision” between an unknown object and an airplane. After investigation, the object remains unidentified.

On 19 March 2014, at about 0913 Western Standard Time (WST), a De Havilland DHC-8, registered VH-XFX, was on approach to Perth Airport from Kambalda, Western Australia. When about 23 km north-northeast of Perth, at about 3,800 ft above mean sea level (AMSL), the crew sighted a bright strobe light directly in front of the aircraft.

The light appeared to track towards the aircraft and the crew realised that the light was on an unknown object, possibly an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

The pilot took evasive action turning towards the west to avoid a collision with the object. The object passed about 20 m horizontally and 100 ft vertically from the aircraft.

On April 3 2014, CIYL Producer/Presenter Graeme Stevenson and Director Sophia Stacey were shooting the opening sequence of the series in Queenstown New Zealand unaware that they were capturing something extremely unusual.

A pilot, who describes himself as the world's greatest skeptic, was left questioning his beliefs after photographing a UFO in Australia.

The 30-year veteran commercial pilot observed a mysterious aerial object above the residential community of Caloundra in Queensland, Australia on Friday, April 18.

The witness describes this light as having a warm-orange glow. Rather than drifting like a typical sky lantern, this object suddenly changed direction and disappeared.

A strange, donut-shaped dimensional entity suddenly appeared over Melbourne, Australia.

The unusual flying transparent objects seem to be presenting themselves more frequently.

The Tether incident, filmed by NASA was the first notable film showing donut-shaped entities. It appears that these UFOs are using some sort of portal as they seem to vanish into and appear out of nowhere.

Is a strange black dot surrounded by a green haze photographed above Caloundra evidence that we're not alone?

For 22-year-old Andrew Batham, the image captured on his mobile phone at 5.30am last Friday is all the proof he needs.

"I was messing around with the camera settings, left it in negative mode and photographed the sun just above the clouds," he said.

He was surprised to see an eerie shape above the sun when looking back at his photos, and is certain it's a UFO.

"The black dot in the middle is part of the craft, while the colored shape around it is an invisibility cloak," he suggested.

Mr Batham was quick to dismiss suggestions the unusual image captured on his phone could have been a trick of the light caused by photographing into the sun. Read more

Seabed Researchers have found several strange shapes on the bottom of the Barents Sea, North of Norway.

One of the shapes is a major '9 'of 1000 meters long, 60 meters width and eight meters deep into the seabed.


"We saw hearts, shapes resembling animals or Arabic characters and illegible signatures," said Hanne Hodnesdal of project MAREANO . "The most obvious sign is probably the major 9.

Also they found the shape of a huge arrow-head, almost half as large as southern Norway. Note also the 'tracks'.


Hodnesdal had two years ago, when the government put money aside for the exploration of the seabed, never thought they would see something weird like those shapes. “We expected that the soil would be relatively flat"

The soil was mapped with the help of sound pulses. The distance to the surface is determined by measuring the delay between the transmission of a pulse and the reception of a reflection of that pulse the time.

Witness Charles Lamourex: Tonight I skywatched for more than 3 hours and nothing , fell asleep on the couch then was awakened by the TV but it was on mute? Half dazed I hit the volume and the TV went on, so I turned off the TV fell asleep and again voices and awakened and they were gone.

Looked outside and saw I left my Yukon on the balcony, did a quick scan of the night sky and here it was just spinning/wobbling,circled almost twice in the same area and then B- lined directly north east , second object showed up and responded to my laser..it was quite wild, prior to this I caught another orb like UFO blinking.

This one was great because of the detail and moving with purpose, hole in the center or dome.

Australia's UFO Files. The National Archives of Australia holds a number of records relating to UFOs, flying saucers and other unidentified aerial phenomena.

The documents became available in August 2012 under Australia's 30-year rule.

This rule orders the release of government documents 30 years after they were created.

Most of these records date from the 1950's to the 70's, when public interest in UFOs was high and many sightings were reported to Commonwealth authorities.

Rob Hartland has taken from the veranda of his Darlington home in the Perth Hills, more than 20,000 photos of the day-time sky in the past six months and analysed them on his computer.

It began when he was taking photos of clouds to test out a new camera when he noticed a "smudge" that, when enlarged and enhanced, "had some structure to it, suggesting it could be some sort of craft in the sky".

He says since then he has identified a dozen different UFOs including round, square and saucer-shaped craft, posting the photos to his website wispyclouds.net for extra-terrestrial buffs and sceptics to ponder.
