Luke Skywalker's home planet, Tatooine, in the Star Wars saga, was a strange world with two suns in the sky, but a team of astronomers have now found a giant planet in an even more exotic system, where an observer would either experience constant daylight or enjoy triple sunrises and sunsets each day, depending on the seasons, which last longer than human lifetimes.


Located about 320 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Centaurus (The Centaur), HD 131399Ab is about 16 million years old, making it also one of the youngest exoplanets discovered to date, and one of very few directly imaged planets.

With a temperature of around 580 degrees Celsius and an estimated mass of four Jupiter masses, it is also one of the coldest and least massive directly-imaged exoplanets.

They have used the SPHERE instrument on ESO’s Very Large Telescope to image this new planet which orbits inside a triple-star system. The results were published online in the journal Science on 7 July 2016.

The Sumerians called the planet Nibiru, the "planet of crossing," and the Babylonian version of the epic retained the following astronomical information:

A recently published scientific paper is creating a firestorm of media coverage around the world.

In January, a pair of scientists argued that they had found another planet, based on calculations using objects at the distant end of our solar system.


By studying the orbit of six objects in the Kuiper Belt – a mysterious area thought to be filled of asteroids and other icy objects – they argued that they were being affected by something large and previously unknown.

SETI is searching for the 'parent body' of a meteor shower that lit up the sky over New Zealand New Year's Eve. The fact that the shower was completely unexpected suggests that something new has entered the solar system.


A new network of video surveillance cameras in New Zealand has detected a surprise meteor shower on New Year's Eve. The shower is called the Volantids, named after the constellation Volans, the flying fish, from which the meteoroids appear to stream towards us.

“In a way, the shower helped chase bad spirits away,” says SETI Institute meteor astronomer Peter Jenniskens. “Now we have an early warning that we should be looking for a potentially hazardous comet in that orbit.”

The shower was not seen the year before and is not known from past radar observations and the meteoroids move in a fairly steeply inclined orbit similar to that of some Jupiter-family type comets.

A guest camera in the Australian Weathercam Network, owned and operated by North Brisbane Data Recovery captured a rare phenomenon, what looks like a spherical object surrounded by clouds, in the sky over Brisbane, Australia on February 29, 2016.


At first glance it looks like it just cloud forming or a reflection of the sun or camera, but as the phenomenon appears out of nowhere and turns slowly into a circular shape we may wonder whether it is cloud forming/reflection or it is something like a second sun, an ‘invisible’ planet or a decloaking object?

Caltech's Konstantin Batygin, an assistant professor of planetary science, and Mike Brown, the Richard and Barbara Rosenberg Professor of Planetary Astronomy, have found evidence of a giant planet tracing a bizarre, highly elongated orbit in the outer solar system beyond Pluto.


The object, which the researchers have nicknamed Planet Nine, has a mass about 10 times that of Earth and orbits about 20 times farther from the sun on average than does Neptune (which orbits the sun at an average distance of 2.8 billion miles). In fact, it would take this new planet between 10,000 and 20,000 years to make just one full orbit around the sun.

The researchers discovered the planet’s existence through mathematical modeling and computer simulations but have not yet observed the object directly however they noted that the putative planet Nine—at 5,000 times the mass of Pluto—is sufficiently large that there should be no debate of the existence of this planet.

Again a second sun has been observed. This time Linda from Sudbury, Ontario Canada caught the phenomenon on tape on January 5, 2016.

According to Linda, the object is a massive unidentified flying object that stood still in the sky. She said “at first I thought that it was a cloud and then I saw that it was something else.”


However, if we compare Linda’s image with similar images of a second sun, I believe the object is a second sun rather than a massive UFO.

More and more beams of light and two suns appear in the sky across the world.

The latest of the eerie phenomenon occurred in the area Hipolito Yrigoyen of Argentina, where residents of the town of Oran witnessed two suns and a beam of light, just before a heavy thunderstorm and extreme winds engulfed the area on December 30, 2015.


There is much speculation that the phenomenon has to do with the approach of Planet X or Nibiru in our solar system.

That a second sun is not just an optical illusion proves the photo below which was recently made in Canada and clearly shows a second sun too.

As the second sun or planet is visible behind the trees and it has its own reflection on the water we can rule out that it is a lens flare or camera glitch.

Reports of a Second Sun continue. The latest report came from a witness who took a picture of a second sun from the 6th floor of the Silver Radar Tarakan building in Kalimantan, Indonesie on December 4, 2015.

The rare phenomenon was visible for a few minutes until it was covered with clouds.


In the world of science the phenomenon is known as a Sun Dog, an atmospheric phenomenon that consists of a pair of bright spots on either side on the Sun.

According to astronomers, AU Microscopii (AU Mic) is a star, located only 32 light years away from Earth.

Images from the Hubble Space Telescope and the large telescope from ESO show very unusual features within the disc of the star.


In 2014, astronomers compared the latest images taken by the large telescope with the 2010 and 2011 images taken by Hubble and discovered that the latest images show unexplained features which have an arch-like structure. People all around the world take photos of strange beams of light. Why are they appear and what is the meaning of them?
