At this moment there are 23 volcanoes erupting around the world and there is one super volcano on the brink of eruption.

Scientists warn that the deadly North Korean 9,000 feet super volcano, Mount Paektu, located on the border between North Korea and China is set to erupt and cause a global catastrophe, the likes of which would not have been seen for a thousand years.


Another reason for concern, the super volcano is not far from a North Korean nuclear test facility where the government is conducting nuclear bomb tests.

Mount Paektu is responsible for one of the most violent eruptions in human history (alongside the Hatepe eruption of Lake Taupo at around 180 AD and the 1815 eruption of Tambora).

A supervolcano that last erupted nearly 500 years ago and spewed ash across Europe for eight consecutive days is showing signs of reawakening.

The Campi Flegrei supervolcano which is 8 miles wide lies beneath the Bay of Naples in southern Italy and contains 24 craters along with numerous geysers and vents.


There has been a recent decrease in gas pressure at the supervolcano, which combined with an increase in temperature of the hydrothermal reservoir means the magma may be approaching critical degassing pressure, scientists wrote in the journal Nature on Dec 20, 2016.

The supervolcano is Italian for “Burning Fields” and has notable eruptions that occurred 39,000 and 12,000 years ago. The first eruption caused heinous weather changes, toxic levels of sulfur in the air which caused dark red sunsets for a year, and tons acid rain.

January 10, 2017 - Philippines / Malaysia has been struck by a very deep (600+km) M7.0+ earthquake (some stations reporting as high as M8.1).

According to Dutchsinse, this is the largest earthquake of the year for the Philippines itself, but the depth of the M7.3 is of particular concern... measuring in at over 610km deep.


Deep earthquakes usually lead to shallower larger earthquakes which strike the "silent zone fulcrum points" on every side of the deep event.

Thus Japan, Papua New Guinea (Solomon sea), and Indonesia all three need to be warned, and all three will be hit by larger activity (larger than anything we've seen in the past several weeks). This could reach above M6.5 in several locations.

The larger earthquakes could go a full 1-2 magnitudes LARGER than the deep M7.3 - thus making the potential for a very large earthquake (M8.3 to M9.3) much greater than "normal".

When Cory Hearon, father of three was in his car last Tuesday when he looked to his left and saw an angel-like cloud formation that left him awestruck.

A swarm of earthquakes that rattled the Salton Sea area earlier this week has increased the probability of a major quake hitting Southern California.


The California Office of Emergency Services (OES) issued an earthquake advisory warning residents and officials in Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, Kern and Imperial counties that there was a greater possibility of a major earthquake through Oct. 7.

More than 140 seismic events have been recorded near Bombay Beach beginning Monday ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 4.3, according to U.S. Geological Services (USGS) seismologists.

Scientists say some of the cross-faults are positioned to potentially add stress to the San Andreas fault and the San Jacinto fault system when they rupture.

Central Queensland spotted the meteor which resulted in a huge flash of light and the loud boom in the night sky.

Experts are divided over if it's a meteor, meteorite, an asteroid, or a UFO that lit up Gladstone's sky.

Earth's crust floats on a layer of molten rock known as magma.

Enormous rivers of hot possible molten rock, spanning hundreds of miles across, can be found deep underground, about halfway to the center of the Earth and they send plumes up through the rock like a Lava Lamp, according to a new study.

The searing-hot plumes, which feed volcanoes on the surface, are likely themselves fed by two "super blobs" beneath Africa and the Pacific Ocean, the researchers said to livescience.


The researchers found molten jets that were about 700 degrees Fahrenheit (400 degrees Celsius) hotter than the nearby rock.

These plumes stretched from the Earth's crust all the way to the boundary between the mantle and the core, more than 1,800 miles (2,900 kilometers) below the surface. Deeper in the mantle, these plumes become incredibly wide — up to 600 miles (1,000 km) across.
