Mystery of Lightning Strike – Photo captures lightning striking Brazilian woman at beach in Guaruja – Jan 17, 2014

Roseangela Biavati, 36, died instantly when she was hit by a bolt of lightning during a trip to a popular seaside resort on the coast of Sao Paulo.

Photographer Rogerio Soares was on the beach at the time documenting the incoming storm for a local newspaper when unwittingly snapped Mrs Biavati's final moments.

The first photo shows the mother-of-one running towards the water with her arms outstretched as she warns her 11-year-old son to get out of the water.

The next image captures a single bolt of lightning striking the very spot where the victim had run towards.

Three men, including Mrs Biavati's husband, were also captured dragging her lifeless body back onto the beach. Mrs Biavati's husband told the Mailonline and    that his wife had gone to tell their son and nephews to get out of the sea.

It was as she stepped into the water that she was hit and killed.

"The next minute my wife was lying on the floor."

The victim's brother, Elias, said that rescuers tried in vain to restart Mrs Biavati's heart on the sand.

"When I saw my sister she was already lying on the ground and people were trying to revive her by massaging her hear," he said. "We are in a state of shock.

My brother-in-law is devastated by the sudden death of his wife. We can't believe how it happened – it could have been any one of us," Elias said. source
