Dramatic video: Giant sinkhole swallows houses in China - Jan 30, 2013

Two buildings in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou vanished into a sinkhole on Monday, but authorities filled in the hole in less than 24 hours, China's state broadcaster CCTV reported.

No one was hurt in the collapse because the people who lived in the buildings had moved out.

The sinkhole appeared on Monday, causing a three-storey building to collapse. More subsidence occurred later that evening, leading to the collapse of another three-storey building.
