8.2M Earthquake struck off the Coast of Mexico – 3 Meters Tsunami Waves reported!

September 8, 2017 - Just happened: A magnitude 8.2 earthquake has struck off the southern coast of Mexico, the US Geological Survey says, shaking buildings across the center and south of the country and sending people running into the streets of the capital.


Its epicentre was 123km southwest of the town of Pijijiapan, at a depth of 33km.

This earthquake followed by many 4M-6M aftershocks did trigger tsunami waves reaching more than 3 meters above the tide level are possible along some coasts of Mexico. There is a tsunami warning for many areas, you can check the tsunami threat forecast here.
