A wide white-balanced panorama was taken by NASA's Curiosity Mars rover on Dec. 19, 2019, the 2,620th Martian day, or sol, of the mission. showing the Western Butte on Mars. The rover's Mast Camera, or Mastcam, used its telephoto lens to produce the panorama, which includes 130 individual images stitched together.
But the image not only shows the landscape of the Western Butte. When zooming in onto the high resolution image a human-like figure becomes visible.
A person with a pale face, long wavy hair and possibly wearing sunglasses who is staring at the Mars rover Curiosity.
It is not the first time that human-like figures have been spotted in NASA 's Curiosity images, but it is often dismissed as pareidolia. But is that really the case here?
